Game Review
In a tightly contested Bundesliga match, St. Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt played out a goalless draw on Sunday, 8 March 2026. The result, while not surprising given both teams' mid-table positions, highlighted the defensive solidity of both sides but also their struggles in front of goal. The game was characterized by a lack of clear-cut chances, with neither team able to break the deadlock. St. Pauli, playing at home, managed to hold their own against a Frankfurt side that has been inconsistent this season. Despite the absence of goals, the match was not without its moments of tension, particularly in the closing stages. St. Pauli made three substitutions, bringing on Connor Metcalfe, Lars Ritzka, and Adam Dźwigała, in an attempt to inject some energy into their play. However, these changes did not translate into a breakthrough. Eintracht Frankfurt also utilized their bench, introducing Ayoube Amaimouni, Paul Arrhov, and Ritsu Dōan, but similarly failed to find the back of the net. Tactically, both teams seemed content to maintain their defensive shape, with neither side willing to commit too many players forward. This cautious approach was reflected in the lack of goals and the overall flow of the game. The match saw a few yellow cards, but no red cards were issued, allowing both teams to finish with eleven players on the pitch. The result leaves St. Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt in similar positions in the Bundesliga table, with both teams needing to find more consistency in their performances to climb higher. For St. Pauli, the draw extends their unbeaten run, providing a platform to build on in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt will need to address their attacking inefficiencies if they are to challenge for a higher league position. Post-match reactions from both camps suggested a sense of missed opportunity, with both managers acknowledging the need for improvement in the final third. As the Bundesliga season progresses, both teams will be eager to convert such draws into victories to enhance their league standings.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
